Deakin One
📍 Canberra ACT, Australia
Project Overview
The Deakin One commercial development is a three-story educational building that completes the Deakin master plan. A central atrium fosters spatial connectivity between all levels, encouraging interaction among building users. It also serves a functional role by enhancing natural light within the tenancies and supporting passive cooling.
The building’s exterior features a unique integrated glazing and cladding solution, tailored specifically for this project. Drawing inspiration from the trees in this leafy suburb, the design includes a seemingly random arrangement of angled glazing and spandrels panels. These elements reflect subtle shades of blue and green, mirroring the sky and surrounding foliage.
Our scope was involved in the completion of clash-free 3D HVAC modeling for the base building, including the chiller, AHUs, ductwork, cooling towers, and car park exhaust system. Our workshop and coordination drawings provided accurate details for ductwork fabrication and equipment placement, optimizing system performance and installation efficiency.
